• Version History for Playlists: We're rolling out a new feature, initially to a limited number of teams, that will mean you never lose work when collaborating on playlists in your Hudl Library. You can now view the full edit history of any Hudl-synced playlist, see exactly what changed and when, and restore any previous version so accidental overwrites are always recoverable.

What's Improved?

• The colors you set on playlist rows and clips now stay consistent everywhere they're viewed. Existing playlists may show a very small one-time row color change in Version History the first time they sync after this update.
• When an IP camera feed drops during capture, Sportscode now reconnects it for you automatically instead of interrupting you with a "Feed Disconnected" pop-up. A "Reconnecting" message appears on the affected feed while it retries, and capture continues as soon as the feed is back. If it can't get the feed back after several tries, you'll still get the prompt to reconnect by hand.

What's Fixed?

• Pasting text containing line breaks, quotation marks or percent signs into the advanced search box no longer crashes Sportscode.
• Switching to a different timeline in a multi-timeline package and then sharing to Insight no longer fails. Previously, Insight couldn't locate the file unless you closed and reopened the package first.

• Clips imported from FastDraw caused errors when syncing to Hudl. They now sync correctly.

• When you added a large batch of clips to an existing standalone playlist, the progress bar could disappear within a second, long before the clips finished appearing, so it looked like nothing was happening. It now stays visible until every clip has been added.

• You can now send your play diagrams created in Fastdraw directly into a Sportscode presentation without exporting or reimporting. This makes it easier to drop a diagram of an opponent's play alongside your video clips, or to build your playbook right next to your film.
• You can now open the Hudl AI chat directly from Sportscode. This new feature allows organization administrators to deregister licenses themselves without needing to contact support.

What's Fixed?

• Previously, clips downloaded from Hudl or Wyscout were occasionally cut short when sent to Studio. These clips are now reencoded so you do not lose any video footage.
• Resyncing a Hudl playlist with newly uploaded footage previously caused comments to be lost. Your comments on Hudl.com will now remain intact.

• We resolved an issue where live XML data imports during a capture session caused Hudl Sportscode to slow down or become unresponsive over time. Your live capture sessions will now remain stable and perform smoothly throughout your entire match.

• You can now copy rows between different timelines of the same video. Select the rows you want to copy on the timeline then right-click to open the context menu where you'll see a new "Copy row to timeline" option.

• You can now undo and redo drawing effects on playlists. Creating, deleting, moving, resizing, and changing properties (stroke, fill, font) of an effect can all be reversed with the standard undo/redo shortcuts.

• You can now jump to the live point of the capture or to the end of a timeline using a hotkey. By default, use 'Shift + Option + L' to jump to the live point. You can customize this hotkey at any time by going to Settings > Timeline.

• Enhanced capture now re-encodes RTSP, RTMP and SRT video feeds including B Frames to ensure smooth timeline video playback. This will fix any issues with stuttering capture when using FIFA feeds with Enhanced Capture ahead of the World Cup 2026 games.

• Made 'from source' recordings on RTP/SDP feeds (when possible) are no longer re-encoded.
• Capturing from RTP and SDP broadcast feeds (including H.265 HDR sources) is now more reliable. We've added buffer tuning so video plays back cleanly under packet bursts.
• When an incoming HEVC feed has to be re-encoded during capture, the recording is now saved as HEVC instead of being silently converted to H.264, preserving the original codec quality.

• We've resolved an issue where clips in exported playlists could drift further out of sync as the playlist progressed. Slide timings now stay accurate from the first clip to the last.
• Previously, 10-bit HEVC streams could display with green tinting or vertical striping on Apple Silicon when hardware decoding fell back to software. Affected streams now play back correctly.

macOS Sonoma Support Ending

• Starting with the next release, Hudl Sportscode 12.74.0, we will no longer support macOS Sonoma. Users running Sonoma will be locked to 12.73.0 as their final supported version of Hudl Sportscode. To continue receiving updates, please upgrade to macOS Sequoia or later.

Your playlists now maintain complete data integrity when moving between Sportscode and Hudl.

• All metadata, row colors, playlist structure, and customizations are preserved exactly as you created them. No more lost information or reformatting headaches.

Drawings you add in Sportscode are no longer permanently burnt into your video when they are uploaded to Hudl.

• Instead, they're now preserved as editable layers that you can modify in New Hudl Playlists, then download back to Sportscode for further refinement.

• This enables you to make changes to drawings without re-uploading or recreating content, decreasing turnaround times when updating analysis materials, and facilitating collaboration with coaches who can adjust drawings directly in New Hudl Playlists.

• Editable Slides and Instance Overlays (and much more) will come in future releases.

Push your playlist changes to Hudl and pull updates from teammates with a simple sync workflow (Diamond teams).

• If during a playlist sync your playlist is out of sync with the playlist on Hudl you will receive an alert giving you the option to upload as a new playlist, replace the playlist or download the latest version ensuring everyone is always working from the latest version.

• If you try closing a playlist that has unsynced changes to Hudl an alert will be shown asking if you would like to sync up your changes ensuring your playlist on Hudl is always up to date.

• You can now use a more efficient live streaming format (fMP4) when using Enhanced Capture with the HEVC codec. This update improves video upload stability and efficiency during live capture sessions, and provides better compatibility with modern video standards.

• You will no longer see black video segments when viewing HEVC (H.265) uploads on Hudl.com. We fixed an issue where Sportscode incorrectly mixed video formats during the export process. Your multi-angle timelines and playlists will now maintain consistent video quality and playback across all angles.

• Database and playlist icons now display correctly when you right-click the Sportscode app in your dock. Due to a technical limitation, reference and standalone file types cannot be differentiated in this menu. As such, both types will display the blue colored icon in the dock menu.

• Previously, some document types were displaying the wrong icon in the “Open Recent” menu. You will now see the correct icons for all your Sportscode Video, Code Window, Matrix and Timeline files in this menu.

• Hudl Sportscode now supports Secure-SRT streams and h.265/HEVC capture. These updates allow you to utilize higher-quality video formats and more secure streaming protocols for your live workflows.

• Temporarily, live streaming sessions are disabled when working with h.265/HEVC streams, while we fix an issue. This will be supported again in the near future.

• You can now review footage more efficiently using new hotkeys for continuous fast-forward and rewind for all the video players in Sportscode. Instead of holding down a key, a single press of "." or "," starts/rewinds playback at a faster speed.

What's Fixed?

• We resolved an issue where Sportscode icons for reference playlists and databases were not displaying correctly for users. Your playlists and databases will now show the correct icons, making it easier to identify and organize your files. Please restart your device for this change to take effect. We’re aware of an issue causing other Sportscode file type icons to displaying incorrectly in the Recent Documents menu, and we’re working on a fix.
